Five Thousand Miles’ Lisbon office is responsible for coordinating all of our company’s efforts worldwide.
Five Thousand Miles’ headquarters is based in Lisbon, Portugal. Portugal is a member of the Schengen area and Lisbon has direct flights to all European capitals making it easy for Five Thousand Miles to discuss business with European companies.
Lisbon is also one of the European capitals closer to Africa, South America and the USA with daily flights to major cities in these destinations. The Lisbon office coordinates our global activity, and hosts teams specialized in Research, Operations, Partnerships and Media.
Outside of Portugal, Five Thousand Miles has offices located in five other locations: São Paulo, Brazil; Lagos, Nigeria; Johannesburg, South Africa; Valencia, Spain; Ghana, Accra and Miami, U.S.A.
Five Thousand Miles’ office in Brazil is located in São Paulo, the country’s financial center, responsible for a third of Brazil’s GDP. The team in São Paulo’s office coordinates all of Five Thousand Miles’ operations in Southern America.
Five Thousand Miles has an office in Accra. Ghana claims to be one of West Africa’s leading powers.
It has an emerging economy with several growing sectors such as agriculture, mining, financial services and tourism.
Five Thousand Miles has an office and teams in Lagos, Nigeria, which supports our activity in Africa. Nigeria is the number one African economy and the most populous country in the continent. Furthermore, Nigeria has a very dynamic and diversified economy with several thriving sectors such as oil & gas, technology, real estate, telecommunications, agriculture and construction.
Five Thousand Miles’ office in South Africa is located in Johannesburg, the country’s financial capital, which produces almost a fifth of the country’s GDP. With over five million inhabitants, Johannesburg is also the most populous city in South Africa. The team in Johannesburg’s office coordinates all of Five Thousand Miles’ operations in Southern Africa.
Five Thousand Miles has an office and team in Valencia, Spain, which supports our activity in Europe. Spain has a population of 47 million inhabitants and is in the Top 15 of the world’s largest economies. Spain is classified as a high income economy and is on the Top 10 of the world’s countries with the highest quality of life.
The United States is the world’s largest economy, and the U.S. state of Florida, where we are located, is one of the country’s largest importers and exporters.

Pedro is a Portuguese born in Mozambique. He has completed his education in Portugal, earning an Economics degree and an MBA.
He’s a McKinsey & Company alumnus.
He has also acted as founder and CEO of SIBS International where he built a multinational company from scratch (start-up).
Pedro is the founder, shareholder and CEO of Five Thousand Miles, SA. He is also the Honorary Consul of Portugal in Lagos, Nigeria. And most importantly, he’s a proud son, husband and father of two wonderful children.
João R. Menano is a Portuguese specialist in international business development in emerging markets.
João holds a B.A. in International Relations from the School of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon, a post-graduation in Area Political Studies from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the NOVA University of Lisbon and a post-graduation in Economics from the Lisbon School of Economics & Management of the University of Lisbon.
João started in Five Thousand Miles as Partnerships Manager and he’s currently Shareholder and Vice president.
José Santos has a BTEC in Film and Television.
José is responsible for the Five Thousand Miles brand, ensuring its consistency across the board.
Driven by results, he coordinates all of the group’s communication and publicity efforts.
With a background in Management and specializing in Data Analysis, Ricardo Nunes has developed the analytical skills and the ability to thrive in challenging and demanding environments.
Assuming a financial position, Ricardo aims to tackle complex problems and contribute to innovative solutions that allow the company to develop and achieve its goals.
